Despite many obstacles, women in Brazil are also gaining the space they deserve in society. This is confirmed by the increasing number of women licensed to ride motorcycles in the South American country which has grown by 95.7% between 2011 and 2020 (Denatran – National Department of Traffic data).

Further analyzed by Abraciclo, the association of motorcycle manufacturers, the data reveals that by November 2021, there were already 7,833,121 female motorcyclists in the country. Just 10 years ago, the total number of women with an A-class license was 4,002,094.

There has been even more significant growth in recent years. Since 2017, over 985,000 women have obtained a motorcycle license. In the age group between 26 and 30 years old, there has been a 50.4% increase in female motorcyclists in recent years.

In 2019, women represented 28% of the total number of people who bought a new motorcycle from a dealership. “Women were born to ride, but some still don’t know it!”

Alice is a fan of high-displacement models and loves going on motorcycle trips. “Riding a motorcycle is therapy. Every day we learn something new. We always push our limits, and this helps us become better people.”

To encourage other women to take up the handlebars, Alice created the online group “Women Motorcyclists and Motorcycle Lovers” in 2009.
